Skin Needling

What is Skin Needling?

Professional skin needling, also known as medical needling or collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure performed by a trained professional that involves using a device with tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. The purpose of the treatment is to stimulate the body's natural healing response and collagen production, leading to improved skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Professional skin needling is typically performed using a medical-grade device, that can penetrate deeper into the skin than at-home derma rollers. The device is moved over the treatment area, creating tiny punctures or micro-injuries that trigger the production of collagen and elastin.

Professional skin needling is often used to improve the appearance of acne scars, pigmentation, scaring, pore size, stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. It may also be used to improve the absorption of topical skincare products and to enhance the overall health and vitality of the skin.

What does the treatment include?

During skin needling the skin is first cleaned and prepared for the treatment. We then uses a medical-grade device to create tiny punctures or micro-injuries in the skin's surface. The device contains multiple small needles that penetrate the skin at a controlled depth and speed.

The professional moves the device over the treatment area, making multiple passes to ensure even coverage. The needles create small channels in the skin that trigger the body's natural healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin production and improving the overall health and appearance of the skin.

After the treatment, a soothing serum will be applied to the skin to help minimize any redness or discomfort. The skin may be slightly pink or red for a few days after the procedure, but any swelling should subside within a week.
